Cat food question
Was looking around the internet for high quality cat food and came across this
http://www.naturesmenu.co.uk/products/p ... urkey100g/
It seems pretty simple and the meat content looks good, wondering if this would be suitable for BTS... and if it is, how often it could be used.

I'm not sure. It looks great, but what's with the various sugars?

I would write to the company and ask them about those various sugars in the first one. . . I won't buy something if it is not explained to me, or if I feel its too vague!
And since when do cats need various sugars anyways?

As a question, what is the point in looking for a cheap, all-meat pet food when you can just buy a chunk of meat and stick it in a chopper?

For a bluey, it'd be fine to do that. But for a cat, they can't synthesize taurine and need it to be provided in their diet and chopped meat won't give them that.

Just a note..I talked with one of the dog/cat food reps in my store(PetSmart) I said I needed canned food that was low in fat and ash but high in protien..She said kitten food would best hit that.
I don't give catfood as a meat source..but I get the pouches(ones with gravy or juices) and I drissel that over greens and such..chomper wont eat greens otherwise. But with this he digs in. I go for chicken for his meat...doesnt seem to like crickets, mealworms, or any other kind...I'll try earthworms but I'm guessign it's a no.

I use kitten food for my roaches because it's so high in protein. Not sure about the other contest though. And the container is cute

As far as Im aware the broth in this is just the chicken boiled in water.

I don't bother with cat food... I can't stand the stuff. Grosses me out, gives me the jibblies. I have to "encounter" it at work, though, so that totally fills my cat food quota up!
I feed my bluey whole, frozen/thawed mice... Hopper size, ripped up if it's too big. As long as the animal was in good body condition (i.e. not obese), you've got a lovely, relatively balanced meat meal. Just add veggies and you're set.
Muscle meat is missing nutrients. It has an inverse calcium to phosphorus ratio, lacking in vitamins (A and D to name two), and probably many amino acids and other vitamins and minerals.
But nobody is feeding their bluey JUST muscle meat or JUST mice...
I like to grind up muscle meat with some veggies so that Indie eats it. Cat food would probably work to make the veggies more appealing... but just... ew. Can't do it. Grossly enough, I can deal with a ripped up mouse cadaver much easier than I can with cat food.
