Poo question!!~ ;D

Postby Raven_Vivi » Tue Jun 03, 2008 9:49 am

Duke's been pooping out what looks like "rotten banana" for the past two poops. Is that bad??? Just that parts of his poop look like mushy banana and the rest looks normal. O_o

The only diet change I've given him in the past 2 weeks is that I've started feeding him waxworms more frequently.

He has his fecal done just the day before and they came back all negative.

His diet consists of:
Catfood
kale
Blueberries
Zuccini
orange (sometimes)

Thanks in advance~

Could what you are seeing be undigested wax worms?

Yep, Tattoo called it, I'm betting thats it, because same thing happens to Chuff when he eats waxies. He loves them, they're the only worm I can get him to eat!

Raven, vary up his diet some, try shredded boiled chicken, collard greens, and mine goes freak-o over eggs and amngo. He loves them!

Well, Chuffalumps has parasites at the time, which accounted for some undigested particles in his poop.
He's all better now, but I haven't given him waxaorms in a long time.
If your boy's fecal is check out ok, its probably that he gulped them down practically whole. Make sure he's warm enough so he can properly digest his food, would be the only suggestion I have for now.

Wax worms are also quite fatty in content, if you use supper worms instead, offer the lighter coloured ones first, they have the thinner/no shell and you're less likely to see bits in the turn out.
MMMmmmmm... Something???????

True statement.

I used to feed Rollie waxworms but they'd end up passing right through (they have loose, chitinous skin that won't digest well) and boy the smell was terrible. I ended this treat thereafter.
