When should I feed with school times?

Postby Lemons » Thu Aug 05, 2021 10:33 pm

I'm still in school I'm there from 8:30 to 4:00 I hope to be getting a bluey soon and I'm wondering when I should feed him/her. I know how often, how much and when to feed them I'm gust not sure what time in the day.

Asking for some help. And yes I checked frequently asked questions and good old fashioned google.

Feeding them before you're getting ready for school (first thing you do in the day) and taking out whatever isn't eaten before you leave could be a good time. You can prepare the food the night before, nuke it in the microwave for 3-5 seconds to bring it to room temp, and should be good. That'll allow the skink to be able to digest properly all day without cutting into your time. I personally wouldn't want to feed them when you get home because it's better for them to digest during the day when it's warmer and they're active rather than at night when it's cooler and when they're sleeping.

When the skink is older it'll be easier since you feed them less and you can time it to either be once during the week and then again on the weekend or for one day on the weekend.
