Northern just moved in and happy

Hi all,
My first post as a proud new owner of a 3 year old Northern BTS who needed a new home.
Picked him (I think of it as a him, although sex unknown) up today, brought him home to his new 4 X 2 X 2 wooden vivarium and he seems to have settled straight in, after a bit of huffing when taking him from box to viv.
Apparently he has so far been fed mostly on insects, but for a few reasons I would prefer to try the dog food+veg+greens method - is it fairly easy to adjust them to a diet change?
