Bioactive encosure

Hey guys, i have jsut recently bought a BTS and was looking for advice on how to set up a bioactive tank.
I have spring tails and wood lice ready to go, but i am still unsure about the top soil. it says it is organic but it smells very strong and has compost in it so i am not sure if it is safe? How can i tell it is safe for my blue tongue?
