What do you call a group of blueys?
Many other animals have their own collective nouns to describe a group of their kind. For instance: a mob of kangaroos, pod of whales, a herd of elephants, etc. As originally discussed in the main off-topic thread, we thought it would be fun to come up with an "official" term for a group of blueys. The BTS.net council (I just made that up - there's no such thing. Just a few of us mod-like people) has mulled over the many suggestions for a special term to describe a group of blueys. The suggestions were narrowed down to a list of 6 terms from which we'd like the forum members to choose. Voting will be allowed for 2 weeks from today. So vote for your favorite term!
Think: " a ______ of blueys/bluetongues"
For fun here are some lists of terms already in use:

I would never be able to say "a slick of blue tongue skinks" with a straight face.
I mean, skink is bad enough already. But if I have people asking me, "That's a slick skank?" all the time my brain will most likely explode. So I voted for tangle
That said, I love this idea.

None of them fit right. They seem too far off from what we are trying to describe.

Meh. Matter of perspective, I suppose. You could make your own poll, too... I'll vote in it.

I missed the thread on this one.
A "tangle" sounds like they hang out together and enjoy being social, but they don't.

Thats my point exactly, a baquet sounds like they fine dine with eachother, a tangle sounds like they are in a mess or hang out together, boomerang sounds very irrelevent to a group of blueys and so does a slick slide of sashay. I think we need a longer list that also includes australian terms such as a mob of blueys, and definently a longer list.

I think this is a great discussion, but the fact that they aren't really a herd type animal. Perhaps a word that implies that, something like a NEVER of blue tongues. Because that's how often you would see it. But since that isn't on the short list I think tangle is fitting, since that word can also be used to describe a fight.

Ahh, but there ARE large groups of BTS found together living under the same shelter. And during breeding season, they can be seen together all over the place. And to top it off, do any of these crazy terms make sense anyway? A murder of crows? They're all off-base. This list, each word does actually have something to do with BTS.
I can't believe "tangle" took off so fast

I imagine it related to their 'walk' or style of movement. And as Zach said, take a look at those sites and see how many make sense.

To me, yes, related to their movement but also I they would sort of sashay past, ignoring each other (that's if they don't lunge at each other).
