UV Dissucssion
Ok since we seem to again be going down the road of discussing how essentail UV light is for skinks through that 6 page thread and the new thread, "UV Light + No funds." So I've created this thread so those who strongly belive that UV light is essentail and for those who don't fell it is essential.
If you think this is just a waste of time please feel free to post your thoughts, enough people think its pointless, i'll delete the thread.

Lol. If you really want to find out you should find a herpetologist crazy enough to do such a research. I'm told the Germans are into reptiles a lot. (One of the people in my student house did a research on Iguanas for a German research institute in Honduras)
I think the 25€ you pay every six months for a UV-TL isn't that costly for a bit of security. The food is more expensive than that.

I believe even that has been debated. I've often wondered if that is true does it apply to all lizards or can it depend on the species....

UV is like natures own happy drug, without we'd all be sad sad sad
. So, just be happy
and let your lizards be happy
! It doesn't hurt them and cost shouldn't be a factor in providing for your skinkies
... if you can't afford the necessities, maybe you shouldn't be keeping them at all. As I have said before, SAD syndrome is rife in countries with long, dark winters and low on sunlight and this is scientifically proven! So if people get SAD syndrome it is common sense that your lizards could get a similar sort of depression
It is wrong to have sad skinks!

ya, i'm pretty much in agrence (if thats even a word) with all of you, looking back this post is kinda pointless. The only reason i even did it was because i felt we where going down the same road in the "UV light + No funds" thread. So i thought it might be nice to duke it out in a diffrent thread. Just tell me how to delete the post and its gone!

You can't delete once someone has responded to it. So it's here to stay.
