Now it's not even coming up on my computer right, well one of them... I'm not sure what got used to make those, but it isn't converting in a great manner. There's document viewing programs that can handle MS Word if you look through freeware sites.

Geez, you've really made me want to re-work the food chart to make a text-only version that pretty much anyone with a Mac IIe can open.

We'll see. I'll PM you if I get bored and nerd out on it sometime.

This may be a bit off topic, but you need a microsoft word viewer which is a free program from Micro$oft. Most MS programs have viewers to enable your system to read documents written with their software even if you don't have the appropirate software installed.
Google is the easiest way to get it rather than navigating through Microsoft's web site.

- and they are all free, to my knowledge

Okay, well I did it.
I have a plain text (*.TXT) BTS foodchart file that should be readable/printable by ANYONE. I never thought we needed anything like this until now.

The things I do for blueys! Text editing by hand!

I'll talk to Zach about getting a link to it for reference, in the mean time, give me your email and I will send you a copy.

I didn't know Word was freeware??? I know Works is (basically the same program but with less features). Bugger me, I've been paying nearly $1k for the MS suite. Well, I've been nicking it from work, but hey, someone's paying a grand for it

No, it's very expensive but what they do release is "viewers" so that if you don't have the software, there a viewers available for download so you are able to view the documents without having the actual software.
