Wriggling while and after eating?

Postby Omega » Fri May 04, 2007 1:45 pm

I assume it is just a normal practice for them to sort of squirm back and forth in place to work food down? I think i remember seeing my Schneider's doing that. I don't think it could be that the food pieces are too big or anything, as they are pretty tiny pieces. He is eating a ton of green now also! Not avoiding the collards or turnips at all.

I read that food pieces should be 1/3 of the head size. :)
Barney my eastern blue tongue doesn't squirm when he's eating.

Maya does put his head up and move funny sometimes to work something down his throat. I'd say maybe....20% of the time? But maybe he's just weird.......they say pets resemble their owners. :paranoid:

his pieces are way smaller than that, so it can't be that they are too big... hmmm, i mean more of a moving his head side to side in a slow, smooth rolling motion, if that makes sense.

My bluey does a head wiggle type thing when I feed him worms and things like that. Sometimes he'll do it with his greens as well. He also likes to rub his face on his bedding while eating. :noknow:

Mini-man - Pinkle, had delusions of grandeur and bit off more than he could chew a couple of months ago and he squirmed all over the place - even did a complete roll on my bed, which is his favourite playground.

(Don't freak, I have covers on the bed so if the dogs do the dirty paw thing or Pinkle does his "magic", they come off to sleep under).

I tried to encourage a lot of excercise and his next meal was mashed sweet potato and the results were very satisfactory!!!!

More Pooh talk - this is a forum full of weirdos obsessed with excretion

yeah, he does a little of both. omg, yesterday he had this tiny piece of turkey stuck under his lip that he kept trying to lick and get into his mouth. He moved from one side of his mouth to the other on the outside of his mouth and back licking at it 50 times or so... it was pretty hilarious. You could tell he was frustrated, but he was a trooper!

Quigly does this too especially when eating live foods he grabs it and waggles his head and drags it on the bedding occasionally he rolls all the way over, it reminds me of crocs and gators doing a deathroll when they catch something.

It might be normal but after all the bluey's I rescued, Pinkle was the first to do it and I freaked. I thought he was going to die.

And they can do it after they've finished eating, too. It's like they're wiping their face clean! Most of them are smart enough to know that only live foods need 'killing', but every now and then you get one that likes to kill vegetables too. ...Ralphie......
