I think he might shed soon!

Postby Omega » Sun May 06, 2007 11:18 pm

I just noticed tonight that my little guy is getting a little pinkish tint on his neck area, but it hasn't gone to his belly quite yet. I know this means they will shed soon, but how long beforehand do these signs usually show up?

edit: I reread the caresheet section and it says thats a sign that he will probably shed in the next week, very cool. I'll be interested to see if his coloring looks any different, and so see how bright and smooth he looks with some new skin on! hehe.

Yeah, shedding is always an interesing process. If only BT's ate their skin off like leopards, haha. They are too lazy for that though.

I have found that my baby blueys will eat their shed. I've also seen my adult blueys taste other blueys shed (I try to get them to shed outside in the warmer months).

Yeah, Moe used to eat her shed....I hear this crunch cruch crunch, and I think to myself what in the world is going on....I peer in the box, and Moe looks up like...."What?" . Heh, now that I'm thinking back, if she was in a box, she must have been TINY!

I get tired of shedding because having 10 BTS, someone is always doing it!

If your skink is a baby, you may not even see the shed at all. Most times we have with our two, but once, Drazil did a "quick change" on us. He was dull when we went to bed, and when we woke up, he was bright and glossy! No shed hanging on at all. He had shed completely overnight while we slept.
