BLUE TONGUE SKINKS

What are some good feeders besides crickets? I want roaches but can't get those until I get my own place. I currently use supers, silk worms and butterworms. The worms get expensive and are a pain in the butt to breed. Any other feeders I haven't thought of?

silkworms are the best. Dunno of anything that would be better and/or cheaper. I've been doing lean ground turkey, but it doesn't provide much of a challenge for my skink in terms of hunting, lol.

Snails. The shells are a great source of calcium.
Also, lean mince (like turkey) is a good alternative to insects. You can cook it, freeze it in portions and defrost as needed.

(Though if you use the "Rollie cubes" or "Joey Gibblets" methods, you have to pay royalties to Kyle Weiss or myself. )

Don't forget my brand... "Unnamed skink Nuggets"!!!

That sounds like it could be nuggets are made OF skink, or nuggets made BY skinks, which tend to be of the stinky poo variety.

Butterworms!!

Snails, Silkworms, roaches and Phoenix worms are the best. Butterworms and waxworms should not be given too often - more like a treat. Crickets are the worst and pointless (other than for enrichement) in my opinion.

I use Morio worms and he love them dusted with calcium carbonate,SNAILS rule{see my posts}, I tried roach's NOT impressed he was, good job Beardies like em.

BTSNewb, land/water snails live in a calcium 1 bed detached, you won't beat that for feeders

Is there anywhere you can actually buy snails?? Will plain old "fish tank snails" from a pet store do? Although the few I've seen around here were tiny.

Sometimes it just sucks living in a small town.

Any snails are find - land or aquatic. Pet/fish store snails are fine; however, you have to worry about any chemicals they may put in the water. A few days 'detox' is a good idea (put the snails in a bowl with water and some greens for a few days and if they are still alive then go ahead and feed them to your bluey).
