That is all part of the fun in the Lizard world, when the male want to make love to his females, they have to be prepared to cop a few love bites from him.
Or else they don't make love with him at all, l'am glad l am not a Lizard, or l will be in trouble with the law, for injuring my partner why l am in love
with her, and she would run away from me.
That is why the Male Blue-Tongue Lizard, has to hold her with is jaw so she can't get away, why he is making love to her, l feel sorry for the female Lizards, for what they have to go through, when in love with their partner.

I agree! So glad I'm not a skink! I like it a little rough sometimes
but I don't normally have puncture wounds afterwards!
I attempted beardie breeding and had problems for this very reason. I was so afraid he was going to kill her. Needless to say the never did finish the job, thanks to me!

Maybe the biting is just skink foreplay.... only it's during.... either way, the female skink looks pretty into it.
Awesome pics!!! I hope Marley gets to mount a female indo one day, assuming he's a boy of course, lol.

Great pictures....I've NEVER seen pictures of Kimberley Northerns mating.
It also depends on how efficient the male is at mating....Nona (renee's IJ) for example, will latch on, hold on, and mate within 1 minute. My Slurpy on the other hand, will grab, re-grab, re-situate over and over again until he finally mates which marks up the female quite a bit more.

hahaha - like love comes into it - Bluey sex is pure Rape - I've witnessed it and it's harsh!!! My Eastern that I'm having probs with now was almost annihilated by Lil my blotched male. Head shots were common until he realised what he had to do to get her to stop running. I just wish he succeeded or she concieved.
