Yup, I figure it's best for my blueys. So I'm thinking about dumping most of them into it once it's finished. Dimensions are: Length: 9ft Depth: 6'8"

That's actually a really good idea! I didn't think of doing that. Ohh well, might make a smaller one. I have 10 Blueys all up, and 2 of them are violent little buggers, so i can't house them with other blueys. So if i make 2 smaller ones like yours, they can all be outside with each other.

a moggy is a cat. I'm not a big cat person myself - but I believe they are quite hairy.
Also - it's quite impressive that you did understand most of it. Wait til we have an Aussie Only thread full of slang. It'd be interesting to see just how many of your guys wil be able to understand us, although we're not that hard to understand really.

Funny thing about that is that us Aussies could probably get away with saying a heap of stuff cuz all the yanks on here wouldn't know what we're saying. Unfortunately for you guys, we're bombarded with American Telly so 'we like totally understand you! Fo' shnizzle my nizzle.'

What sort of Dog? A pitty? They aren't illegal, well not to my knowlege. I know a few people with Pit Bulls. I used to dog sit this one called Casper the friendly Pit bull - she was a gorgeous dog!!!! With pitties (to my knowlege) they have to be muzzled in public, and if they do by chance attack someone - they are immediatly terminated.
People need to realise that dogs don't JUST attack - it's how they are raised, and if they are threatened. Treat a dog well, and you shouldn't have a problem.
If anything that rat you call a dog should be illegal - chiuaua - I can't even spell it's breed!!! I'm sure you love it and it's cool, but i personally can't handle them. I feel like I'm gonna kill it by just taking a step.

PMSL!!!!
Yeah "I'm rooting for ya" always gets me too!!
And you're right Richard - small penis syndrome is quite common with Pitty owners. My departed mate was a rotty, He was great!!! Staffys are awesome dogs, they team up really well with rottys.

Typing the acronym in capital letters doesn't make it any clearer, Blotch. That's kind of like the American talking slower and louder at the non-American when they don't understand something.
So um, really, what the heck does that mean? If it's something really terrible just PM all the people wondering.

PMSL or root? A root's another word for a shag and PMSL is Pee MySelf Laughing but with the pee bit being a different 4 letter word starting with p and meaning the same thing only ruder.
Luke, is it a permanent outdoor thingy or supervised visitation?
If it's permanent, remember to make sure it's got a high area for if it rains (haha ... rain .... hardly eh?!!) but they can't swim so they need somewhere to sit it out. Make sure it's got the temp gradient thing going so they don't cook or freeze. Lots of leaf mulch litter substrate will help there so they can escape the midday or heat or maintain body heat in winter.
They can dig, so if it's not going to have a floor, then you need to dig the sides into the ground at least half a metre.
Best to have wire or some kind of roofing because of predators, and if they make babies then best to get them out of there when born in case they escape or get eaten.
If you just want something to put them in while you're around, there's some pretty snazzy rabbit and hamster hutches at petshops that would do the job. I saw a beauty the other day at my local petshop. But I can't have my blueys living in a better, flashier house than mine

Actually - Blueys can swim quite well. I'm not sure where this myth that they can't swim came from. Throw your bluey in some watter and watch it swim like a croc, you'll be quite surprised.
The wood that you can see outlining the base of the enclosure is in the ground. It's not 50com down though, I think that's a bit of overkill. It;s maybe 2 inches down. The flooring will have tan bark cover it so they can burrow and not dig into the dirt. The sides are going to be made up of picket fence pailings that are side by side so there's no escape. The roof will be 3 seperate sheets of lattice. I was thinking of using lattice so it also provides shade and sunlight in one, rather than having wire. Of courze there will be hides all over the place, The only thing I'm thinking about is if I should perhaps make one side out of perspex to allow more sunlight in. See the position of the pit is at the back of the yard and the sun doesn't go straight over head.
Now for the other thing - as lisa said root is another word for shagging. If it makes no sense to you, think of it like taking root. Got it yet?

Well that's true, most animals can keep afloat if the need dicates. But it doesn't mean they're into it! I heard (firsthand) a terrible story once about a person who kept an outdoor pit that filled up with rain and some of their blueys got drowned. They can paddle with the best of them I know, but they were unable to find a way out, and they eventually just sunk to the bottom until they drowned. I know I wouldn't like to come home from holidays to that.
I think 50cm is overkill too, and I'm built on rock so would have buckleys even getting down that far in places, but it's just the standard suggestion I've heard.
If you use perspex, think how hot it gets under a pergola in summer, so I'd use only one 'light' piece, and a frosted one at that. Use darker stuff for the rest. My dope of a brother in law built this 14 metre long pergola, covered the whole thing in clear perspex and it would totally kill you if you spent more than 5 minutes under it in summer. Sink a few bevvies and you'd probably pass out in less time than that!

Oh no - I mean perspex on only one side. see the sun hits it on a really strange angle, rather than going right over the top, it hits it more on the side. So on the side the sun hits it on, I was thinking about putting the perspex there to allow the sun in. the other 3 walls would be solid and I'd have lattice over the top to stop cats, birds and other nasties from getting in.
