Heres a few animals i saw yesterday near where i live in sydney west,young green tree frogs,kangarooo and a native snail,the original bluey food amongst other things,now there is allot of introduced snails in gardens.

I don't believe i've ever seen a native snail. By the looks of it - they are black. Are they rare? I'm gonna pay more attention to the snails i see from now on.

Yeh there is allot of kangaroos going through suburbs where i live,last year there was a kangaroo in the cleared area under power lines when i was taking the kids to school,they must get lost at night or something.Thousands of kangaroos are on defence land that is nearby and it was sold so they are trying to stop them breeding etc the area is fenced and they will build 5000 houses etc and keep some bushland areas.various mobs of kangaroos around here though where there is habitat like golf courses ajoining bushland etc also a few emus about.The area is cumberland plains which is becoming threatened thanks to our federal govt which sold the massive area owned by the department of defence,even the snails are becoming threatened as they need the native bushland to survive.Yeh if you drive around the defence area there is still big mobs of grey kangaroos grazing within its boundarys,even red kangaroos which were introduced.

The only bit of wildlife we see in Bristol is the occasional fox legging it across the gardens and a few birds... Sometimes living in the city can be a real drag

Yeh we got the introduced foxes here in abundance ,along with cats they are the most serious feral predators in australia,resulting in the decline of may bird.reptile and mammal species.

Really? Over here they're regarded as indiginous life. In fact people keep an eye out for foxes, not to guard themselves against them, but to say "hey there's a fox, how cool".

Foxes almost died out here a few years back, but they're returning nicely now

Yeh i know what you mean wasteindustry,they are native where you lived and should be looked after,over here they are an extremely serious pest that has had a disasterous impact on species such as bilbies,hare wallabies,etc.They were introduced along with sparrows and other english animals by accimatisation societys and hunting clubs, tallyho! Most introductions including bufo marinus the cane toad,have been carryed out by the government or societys that have govt approval,yet if a private person wanted to import a foreign reptile they get all righteous and claim it could have a serious impact if it escaped into the wild etc LOLz

They actually introduced foxes so they could hunt them?

That puts a massive hole in their argument over here that they do it "to keep the fox population under control" then... Stupid redcoat wearing ******s...

Yeh they were introduced by hunting clubs wasteindustry,theyve done massive damage here,recently intoduced into tasmania illegally by who ime not sure exactly,tasmaia is a last bastion for many small marsupials of SE austraia,such as barred bandicoots and quolls.
