BLUE TONGUE SKINKS

I just got LittleFoot some silkworm's from Mulberry's. I fed them with his food, today was grapes and some chopped escarole. The little stinker picked all the grapes out around the silkworms. After about an hour, the silkworms were still there so I took them out. I threw a couple butterworms in and within 30 seconds he ate them. Is there any special way you are supposed to feed them? A lot of people I talk to say they are one of the better meat sources for a BTS. I know he has his likes and dislikes (he hates blackberrys but LOVES blueberry's) I just am finding it very funny with his quirks. I know with my other lizards in the past they pretty much ate what I gave him, but not this guy.

sautee the silk worms in some nice garlic butter? hehe, I'm not sure, prolly just doesn't appeal to him. try to sneak one in his mouth while he's eating a grape, if he likes the taste, he won't be hesitant to go for them from then on i would think.

Marley ate around his collard greens for a couple days until i chopped it too finely for him to be picky. As soon as he tried a bite of them, he was hooked though. Now he will spend 20 seconds trying to lick a piece of collards that is stuck to his plate up.

Mine loves silkies one day and wont touch them the next. I usually feed him a super or a butter worm then toss a silkie too him and he eats it down without thinking

Quigly will eat just about anything that even slightly resembles a meat like substance, anything that looks and smells creepy crawly like is slurped up post haste and i'm being begged for more. Of course hand him a veggie and you get nothing but dirty looks and grumbles. Kids! Sheesh!

Sometimes the silkworms don't move enough for some of my guys so I warm them up under a heat lamp to get them really wiggly. The increased movement really intices my blueys.

if the worms are small enough, you can stuff them into blueberries, i have to do that with Blue.

my beardie used to think that they were a veggie because I'd toss them on his salad
for a while they were his favourite veggie
but he didn't like them at all in the beginning
I think it must be their smell, because it took him a while
perhaps if you mix them with something strong smelling your BT likes - in Henner's case it was arrugula
