Hi Richard c,
Your par of young Northern Blue-Tongues look beautiful here in these photo's.
l would say you have a male and a female there, going by the headsize and shape, and tail lenth and thickness.
Hope they a not related to each other, if you wants some more Northern
Blue-Tongue Lizards from Darwin NT, l can put you intouch with someone
who l know that breeds them, and you will end up with some new bloodline.
l started of collecting the Darwin phase Northern Blue-Tongues, in 1995 and 1996 l got 3 in 1995 from one breeder and 4 in 1996 from another breeder.
Then l kept them all for 3 years until l was able to sex them, then l pick the one l like the look of and were the right sexes l wanted and unrelated
to each other.
This is what you should do to get what you a after, that is why its important to know who the breeder is when you get hold of new Blue-Tongues, so you don't end up with brothers and sisters together.
From Les. :D

Nice richard!!! Very nice!!! How much did the 2 set you back???
Also - How is it possible to sex yearlings??? even by head shape or body size and shape it's near impossible to do so isn't it?

Hi Blotch,
l know to some people it can be hard to sex a young Blue-tongue Lizard, l have kept Blue-Tongue Lizards for 30 years, and l know our to sex even a newborn or juvenile Blue-Tongue Lizards.
Because l know what to look for when it comes to sexing these beautiful Lizards.
lf you bought me 3 young Blue-tongue's, l could give a 80percent guarantee what sex it is, then l would ask you to bring them back in a year time, and have them sex again.
From Les.

i think with northerns it doesnt matter if there the same sex they can still snap, ive only just got them, first time keeper of them, well i have an adult female broome phase kimberly northern to that ive had for a few weeks as well, but yeah, not sure why northerns do it,ive seen plenty in shops and people who keep them out doors ect where they have room to get away, still can suffer from northerns getting narky, and nipping off tails ect,its not all of them though, but happens enough to be careful when there together, heres my kimberly female northern i got from perenty7,shes a doll, beautiful skink with a beautiful temprement

Yeah, if you can find anything like that female Kimberley....wow. One of the nicest looking I've seen.
It's such a treat seeing them. We should add them to our small Kimberley page if it's alright!
