This is lengthy, but worth the read. Hi i'm new
but have been some what of a bluetongue.net stalker...lurking in the shadows reading everyone elses posts.
I got my first bluey in february and have become borderline obsessed. This site has been my bible for the last four months. When I got her she was a little beat up which really ticked me off. ( that's another story) I work for an environmentalist company and I am aloud to keep her here. So I came into work today and I thought she had taken the biggest poo ever....I looked closer and it was a still birth!!! I dug around a little in the aspen and I found four very lively fiesty babies. Mommy was kept in the same container as her siblings for to long and one of her brothers knocked her up!! (that's how it works in Kentucky
)
Later this morning she gave birth to another for a total of five!!! (i have this one on film)
I AM FREAKING OUT!!!
The scabs she had when I got her must have been from mating. So now I have five very healthy babies and I dont know what to do.
I have seperated them from mom and put then in a small plastic ben with a light on them. the surface area for the hotter side is around 100. they are on paper towels. TP roles and a kleenex box to hide in. they ate a little today. I bought a food chopper and finely chopped some collards mango and butternut squash with some sofr cat food. they also have fresh water in a shallow tubberware lid. any suggestions will be most appreciated. love this site!!!!
Pictures tomorrow of mom and babies
mommas name is miss JUB JUB (if you watch the simpsons you'll know where that came from)
