My bluey is potty trained!! I think at least!!

Well I've only had my IJ a few weeks (about a year old though) now and she has been doing great. Really tame and a joy to have. Anyways I have been taking her outside everyday now for about 10-15 so she can soak up some sun rays. I have been taking her out at the same time and I have her on a feeding schedule. Well I was wondering as to why I hadn't seen any messy spots in her tank yet. Well today I was keeping a real close eye on her while we were "playing" outside. She wonders around a little bit and then I see her poop. The funny part was that after she was done, she came back to me and got on my shoe and looked straight up at me as if it say "I'm done can we go back inside now?". It was the cutest little thing!

Just had to share it with you guys, whom have been a great help!

Yere same i get a regular pattarn going every second morning out for walkie,s ..Gee there snaping some massive cables . The new globe is working well..Some turds are massive .lol

That's exactly what I do. You really can get them on a cycle they will become accustomed to!

Only problem is, yesterday we had a local family come to see the lizards....we brought a bunch outside and they all went to the bathroom.

My kids started riding the bus this year. Pele' and I wait for them to get here. He almost always takes care of business while we are outside. Now that the kids are out for the summer, I am beginning to realize just how busy he was out there! I may start taking him out again on the same schedule. Is this "intelligence" or "instinct?" I've always crate trained dogs for this effect but I never thought a lizard could "learn" it. After all, most of my mammalian pocket pets couldn't. At first, I thought he pottied outside because he was nervous, but now he seems quite content out there and he doesn't exibit this same behavior indoors. Anyone have an opinion? I'm new to reptiles but very few lizards (excl. leopard geckos, fat tails, etc.) seem to be selective about where they soil. (Pele' doesn't care where he soils in his cage but he never dirties his water or feeding area.)

The sun is a mojor factor I'm sure, when I take my beardy out it's so noticeable, after about 30 seconds you can see the change, its like putting new duracells in, her blood courses and her pupils open and close like the TRex on The Lost World ,my blue craps at the back of the tank, I'm sure he heats up and has a turn out as he leaves the basking spot via the tunnel{thats where you find it}, works a pain in the ass as I'm never there to see him do his morning routine, he has been outside {a poo that is}it didn't go down well though as my g/d stood in it with no shoes on and dropped the washing coz she thought it was a snail/slug, she said "I crushed it between my toes", I replied "Dont worry its, the second time hes been crushed this week " then the penny dropped
