The weathers been crap for weeks, no, months now, with no chance of outdoor behavour, I thought I'd show people how to attract snails in the garden

I had a nice pot of Lilys going, spot the culprits


these buggers ate 9 flowers between them


My Kale and Endive are doing nicely


Only one thing to do with greedy snails, this was what was left by the time i'd returned with the camera

Leigh, I too thought I had an endless supply of snails. Same as you, lots of plants that snails love, literally 1000s of agapanthus, bromeliads, lillies, wild strawberries and some wild pumpkins growing down the back ....

Alas, they have all disappeared. Apply the 'take one, leave one' principal, or at the very least leave the really big ones. Mine simply have not come back

Can I ask you, how cool does the temp have to be for them not to be around? Or, how warm does it have to be for you to see them? We are finally getting some decent rain, but the temps at night are around 9-12C (horrid!) and I go out at night to look for snails, but I'm wondering if I'm wasting my time at those temps.

I find over here that they seem to go awol around november /december time which is usually 10C and under, saying that you only have to look under the shed or behind a plank {of wood that is} stood up by the fence to find loads waiting to get warm next year. I should feed the smaller ones really as Blue gets more shell down that way.They are abundand here as its wet and mild
