Yellow Tanimbars compared with Silver (pics)

Hi Everyone,

I have a few pics that show the difference between yellow tanimbars and silvers.

Take a look:

Taking these photos and photos of reptiles in general takes hours.

I must've been in the sun till I nearly cooked all the way through like some hard boiled egg.

I made up a technique to keep them "somewhat" still.

If you ever had many litters, Tanimbars are certainly a species that RUNS around quite a bit.

They also stand their ground and rush at you too. It's so cute.

Making sure the color was accurate was also a HUGE priority.

I tend to leave my pictures large so you can see all the details.

This maybe a stupid Question - but which are which? The top pic is obviously the yellows tannies but what about the rest?

Is the 2nd pic a silver and a yellow?

I was wondering the same, are the yellows the ones with the darker brown and more criss x pattern, and as always Andrew please

Excellent shots, Andrew -- I've been disappointed with my pictures; I've got terrible dust in the lens and it just ruins my shots.

Sorry - I'll add some notes.

The first photo displays all four yellow tanimbars that have a red to brown look

The second one shows a silver on the bottom and a yellow on top.

The last photo has a yellow then two silvers and on bottom a yellow.

Can you make out the difference in color?

See, I'm all excited because I've only seen silver babies in real life so to see the yellows was truly exciting for me. Still is.

Andrew, any difference in behavior at all regarding the different color phase? Have you found the silvers to be more aggressive?

Thanks for the explanation mate, after about 30 goes at comparing script with picture I think I can tell the difference ,the head colour seems to be the easier way to tell them apart, I thought it would be the colours between the dark banding , I need to borrow a few of each sort for a few years to hone my skills,any offers? hee hee

Gah! Andrew, every time you post I go into cardiac arrest! I just can't wait for my babies! I think I'll be more excited to finish training than I was to start. Also, are any of those the ones you've picked for me? Can't wait. *sigh* I suppose the pictures will have to be enough for the next 7 weeks. And such beautiful babies they are...
