Weird Scales?

I noticed my skink has a few scales on her back, head and neck that looks kind of chipped up, or chaffed and dry. I noticed in them too red dust from her rock she likes to sleep under a lot...is this just normal scale flaking, leading to shedding or could the scales be a little burned from being under her rock or?

Is it a heat rock, or just a basking rock?

Just a regular slab of sheet rock...pretty light, just have it on the warmer end under the light. Rest of her bedding is Aspen. She likes to hide under it sometimes. I'll get a pic to post tomorrow!

its like a sandstone lookin type that you can get from a pet store... like a thin slab of rock...sheet-like? sheetrock was probably the wrong word...lol.
