Definitely sounds like aggression....regular handling and interaction should solve the issue.

Yeah! It seems almost any rowdy BTS calms right down once being held...

Some members have reported less hissing with side entrance (sliding side doors) rather than coming at them from above (top opening tank).

Even my calmest bluey will try to nip me if I'm messing with their mouths. I'm sure he thinks you fingers are food!

Heh, Rollie always puts up a fuss when I first try to interact with him. I always try and go from the side (stupid top-access tank), but he turns his head and hisses a little. Then when I try to pick him up, he'll try pathetically to scamper away, and then gets over it and and is a gem.

I have had my fingers IN Rollie's mouth when I suspect he's gotten ahold of something he shouldn't have, and he always avoids putting pressure on my fingers. He's never made any attempts at biting me. I'm not quite sure I'd touch his mouth when I first put my hands in the tank.

If you annoy him he probably will bite, I'd bite if you annoyed my lips, mine gets pinny when you wipe his snaily face after a nosh, but doesnt go to bite.

Watch them crunch down on a few snails, shell and all and it'll give you an idea of how strong their bite is.

I dont know much about snails, but I dont know if its the best idea to feed any old thing you find outside to your skink. It could of been carrying parasites or something.

I think BlueyBoy means that stuff you pick up from your lawn might need detoxing first. Otherwise, they may be carrying something you don't want in your skink. Personally, I'm not gonna risk it once I get my babies.
