BLUE TONGUE SKINKS

Hi my name is Tiffany and I have been reading this site for over a year now, I joined yesterday. I have 1 bluey named Sapphira, which I like to think of as a girl...not sure which kind she is, or whether she is a she but I love her anyway! LOL

I wanted a bts for the longest time but having a "few" other animals and reptiles I kept getting the no more thing from the other half. Finally after about a year he gave in, finding me all the time looking up info on them and telling him the diet etc did it I think! I have had Sapphira for just over a month now and she is PERFECT! She eats everything I put in her cage, fruit, veggies, meat, mice, bugs, worms. She has shed once and did great with that. Her only "issue" is when we go to pick her up out of the cage...she opens that mouth and hisses alot. Once out she is fine and I keep pushing it daily going in to get her. I have tried sitting for an hour waiting for her to come to me and she has patience like nothing else and will just sit and stare at me the whole time.

Alright I will talk more about her in other posts later so here is the rest of the zoo....As I said I am Tiffany a 33 year old mom to 2 boys, Stephen 13 and Mikel 9. Besides the bluey we have 33 turtles and tortoises {let me know if you want to know what kinds and I wil post them} 2 iguanas,2 bunnies, and 1 bird. Oh yeah and then there is the other half John who builds my cages, and puts up with the whole mess! lOL

I look forward to getting to know everyone and learning more about my baby!

No egyptians in my tortoise mix though I would love to have one! lOL

I had over 40 turtles and tortoises but had to down size because of space. Right now I have 11 red ear sliders,1 pennisula/red belly cooter hybrid,1 yellow belly slider,2 sulcata,2 ornate woods,1 melanistic slider,1 3 striped mud,1 russian,2 Japanese ponds,2 3 toe boxies,1 black wood,1 red belly cooter,2 reeves,2 pennisula cooters,1 African helmeted,2 Florida boxies.

I will start posting pics...with Sapphira first! LOL

I have been working on opening a water turtle rescue as there are none that I can find in the state of Florida. I am trying to get my permits to take in any turtle or tortoise. I did recently have a gopher tortoise adult female here for three days...the state knew about it and it was all legal. She was awsome, not many left in the state and it's a felony to touch them.

Working on pics, there was an issue with another board and I had to delete almost all my pics...so I am having to retake the ones with the bluey Sapphira as those got deleted from photobucket.
