I am getting a baby from Zach Tuesday morning! Bobby is the baby who ate his tail. I am so excited, I have been wanting one for over a month and now I am ready! I have everything except another mercury vapor bulb. Does anyone use those bulbs? I have a heat bulb but the majority of the research I did said that they need UV. How long does it take young ones to settle in and acclimate? I want to make sure not to stress him out when he gets here. I will have pictures Tuesday afternoon and I am so excited! I can't wait to talk to you all when I actually have a bluey!
If any one else has received a baby thru the internet I would love any tips and to hear your stories!

I dunno! Guess he hasn't changed it yet. I have been checking all day to see if its changed to say "Reserved for Jamie" because that would make me even more excited!

It says reserved, refresh!
They usually acclimate pretty quickly. Usually we'll advise to let them be for a few days to let them settle, but if you see him climbing the sides and up and around and he's not afraid of you walking by, I'd definitely feel comfortable going ahead and holding him....

mort will now be Rosalita Grace
that's nothing, though - she named our poor dog "Pollianne Marie Grace"

Not sure if you were asking me but I'm trying to think of a different name other than Dexter. As a matter of fact, he will be a she! lol Can't seem to settle on a name though. I think it's because I already heard Zach refer to him as a him and it's hard to change genders like that. I may just end up with a he after all. Could you follow that??

Dex could definitely be a she..... "it" it was hard to tell, hehe.

For some reason I always decide that my blueys are boys. Of course, they've all proven me right, but that's besides the point. I think Dex has quite a feminine touch to her! She'll tell you what her name is, you just gotta pay attention to her!

I think you were right. Yesterday I decided on SAMMY. Short for Samuel or Samantha. I think my preference will be Samantha but I find my boys calling her a him. Doesn't really bother me.

I like the name Sammy because it can go either way. On the other hand, I think poor Pele' is actually a she but we haven't planned a name change

. And, if Charlotte is a he, it will be hard to change the name. I didn't choose ambiguous names for my children but I think it is smart to choose them for blueys! Bobby could become "Bobby Sue" but I hope Rosalita and Charlotte don't demonstrate gender misrepresentation (as their names are very feminine!)
