Enclosure pics...good or bad?

Postby kris21 » Tue Jul 24, 2007 2:50 am

Ok so here are a few pics of my enclosure, i just wanna know if its ok, or if there is too much in there etc?
There are 2 blueys in there at the moment and when the one i keep grows i know i will need to take some of the stuff out. I just added them coz it was so dull and needed something to brighten the place up, it was grey and all boring. I do know i need a bigger water dish, they do fit in that one but won't for too much longer.
Also here is a pic of my smallest baby waiting to get out and diving onto my hand.

If you put the basking spot on stilts, you'll have a hide as well.does your cat bother them? Mine sit on the floor under the tank weoowing up at blue.

Hi Leigh,
Well i actually thought it might have been a little to close to the lights...im not sure but that is a paver so putting it on stilts would worry me a bit.
Well the cat and my dogs could sit there for hours watching them, the cat doesn't really bother with them but my fox terrier would eat them if i let her!

My suggestion would be to silicone in each corner, a bit of pipe{plastic wastepipe} a couple of inches long, you wouldn't have to turn it into a Queenslander  , you'd be suprised how low they can go hee hee

It looks nice! It's obvious that you put a lot of work into it!

I also really like raised platforms. I have two, one on the warm end (raised basking tile) and one on the cool end (raised tile for water dish). My skink spends a lot of time underneath them, and what's interesting is that he seems to burrow less than he did when I first got him. It's cool because he must feel secure in these little caves, but I am still able to see him. It also seems to me that he gets a lot of exercise and enrichment from climbing up and down.

Looks fantastic to me; I'd live there if I were a skink
The Humane Society took Michael Vick's pit bulls, asked for public money to help them, then decided it would be best to kill them... adopt from No Kill shelters http://www.roas.petfinder.com

Actually these 2 seem pretty clean....must be girls :)
They don't seem to kick stuff everywhere or leave droppings everywhere either. But i don't mind if they mess it up, its not too hard to tidy.
I will try to evevate the basking rock up a few inches to give them another hide.
I brought some desert background today too....maybe i should have put that up then taken pics, lol oh well.

Must be gi---rl---s.... Don't get me started. Every girl I'm friends with is the biggest slob I know.

Oh they'll mess it up. A nice skink tootsie roll baking away on the basking rock or somehow shot all over the plants will show you what "girls" they really are... :hehe: :)

...still male here, supercharger (turbo? :oi:  ) and I'd ask Julia Child herself, rest her soul, to take off her shoes before entering my front door. :edward:

You know what they say about stereotypes... :lazy:
