How do you not get more?

Postby Tiffany » Wed Jul 25, 2007 6:06 am

I am looking at all the pics of the cuties and it's getting hard to not want another one! lOL After such a great experience with my first one adding another would be soooo easy! lOL A smaller one next time! And maybe one from someone here who knows more about them and I know I would get a healthy one. Just gotta talk the other half into this....he is getting another iguana...makes three of those and only one bluey...I think it should be evened up! LOL

Is there any way to keep more then one in a cage, if it's really big? Or wuold I need to do seperate setups for them?

You could maybe keep two in an outdoor pen, but most people advise against keeping them together because they will fight and probably hurt each other.

But I agree, you can't have just one! I bought two to start with haha.

I already want more also. It's practical! Because I'm throwing out a lot of uneaten food! I can finish off the fruit myself, but I'm not touching those greens and squashes. :hurl:

LOL!! I don't have that issue...with the turtles and tortoises here there is never left over food! They eat a ton of greens and fruit and stuff.

I think it's impossible for a true bluey lover to pass up getting new blueys. I've already ordered 2, have my eye on a third, and that's just this year. I'd be getting more if I had the room. Just wait till later/next year.
As for keeping them together, you can, but there is always that chance of fighting, and in my opinion it's just not worth the risk. However, a very, very large tank with many, many hides could possibly hold more than one.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again. Blueys are like pringles, can't have just one! I just added my third and I love him! I can't look at the sales page anymore, Zach is within driving distance and I'm terribly tempted to go and get another baby!

We keep most of the turtles and tortoises seperated. There are a few here that seem to do better with another of their kind with them...but we keep an extra setup just in case. We were trying to keep two of the iguana together but after 2 hours in the living room they started fighting so they are seperate permanatly. But see my thing is this....three iguana's take up way more space then three blue tongue's would! LOL With seperate cages and all it can be done...I will most likely wait till next year and see what happens this winter with everyone already here then push the another bluey thing! LOL Plus it'll give me more experience and time with one before adding another.

Well, I do have alot of other animals...he "owns" the three igs, the two bunnies and the bird, while I own 33 turtles and tortoises and the blue tongue. I do have a few more then him! LOL Though I feed and care for them all. It's just as easy to feed all of them at once as is it to feed just mine and he feed his. LOL

Heh heh... Garden... I wish. I have to travel like 10 blocks to even come in contact with some grass! Those snails would be radioactive.
