Yeah I was going to say totally normal! Sometimes they can look miserable because they look in shambles, but it's part of their normal cycle -- that's why we recommend people don't bathe them until they're done doing their thang....all the rubbing and digging is all part of their instinctual nature and it's best to let them do it.

She'll look completely different and bright once done.... :weirdo: I can't wait...

hmmm...

she has most of the old skin of now - and much of what has surfaced is bright and shiny.

but, it almost looks like there's another shed right underneath it... like some of her scales have dull places between them.

will take pics tomorrow... but, she won't finish.

90% of hear head and upper tail is still covered and she's not even trying to get it off.

the rest is gne and she looks great (though it seems she's gonna shed again soon), but not the head and tail.
i've been petting her and stuff, but it's nor budging.

:(

You can try petting her with a warm, moist, towel.

did it - it worked everywhere except her head.

she is now a completely clean and shiny skink with a dull head. these old scales seem quite attached, too.

she likes for us to pet her, so it wasn't a problem to sit with a warm washcloth and rub her head for several minutes. it just didn't do any good.

the tank ranges from day to day: from about 35% humidity to just over 50%. most days it sits right at 48%, but it does fluctuate. it has never, according to my gage history, dropped below 35% or gone above 55%.

so - any other ideas?

Dont worry mate, my boys head is the last to come off, sometimes a few days after the rest has gone, looks like he's wearing a skull cap

Yep, it will come off! But almost always it's the last part to come off.
