I am trying my darndest to make a choice between two excellent bred Classic Northern babies.

One has beautiful, colorful parents. A nice chunky head. Fat belly. Almost perfect stripes.

Two has beautiful parents.. not as colorful. A nice chunky head and very fat belly. Chubber tail. Perfect stripes.

I haven't met them yet, but will have an oppurtunity to do so soon, I hope. From my description so far, which would you choose?

Thanks in advance,
~Aminah

But up to you obviously, seeing as he/she is going to be yours!
Oh, also when you see them take pictures!! :D

Well personally i wouldn't go by looks at all. I have 2 baby Easterns and the bigger of the 2 has beautiful colour but his personality isn't good. My smaller baby isn't as "pretty" but he makes up for that with his fantastic little personality he has. He is very friendly, doesn't hiss at me not like his brother. So i say meet them, have a play with them and they choose.

I wouldn't trouble yourself too much. One will suddenly be "the one," and somehow you'll just know.

From what I've heard, I'd go with the one with the colorful parents.. are they both the same age? Maybe the less colorful one is younger and just hasn't had as much time for color to come out.

You all make excellent points and now I am even more torn. I prefer health and personality over appearances, but a nice looking skink with pretty markings is appealing to me also.

Leigh, I tried your idea out on my hubby.. "I can't choose, so I need to get them both... " He said, "NO!"

Thanks, you guys!

But, did he put his foot down, and did a fat lady sing?

I always go with the one that calls my name.

personality wins

Go with the one with a better personality. If you are snuggling them close, you won't ever notice the colors. PS. Glad this was a fun choice as your thread title had me a little concerned. By the way, what two babies did you have (mentioned in another thread?) Were they cresties?

Luce, I have quite the ZOO here... he doesn't need to put his foot down or make the fat lady sing, at this point. He would just kill me and sell off all my animals to pay for the funeral, I think

Jenn, do you have audio of any of yours calling your name? Okay, okay... I'm just kidding.

aggiegirl, I had two more Cresteds hatch out on the 28th... I'm up to 14 now with almost that many eggs incubating. (I have separated the females from the males and everyone is cooling... yes!) Does Piper need a buddy? neighbor? friend?

My skinks all call my name and also have very intellegent conversations! I thought all skinks could talk?!

Yeah whats colour anyway. People don't like to be judged by their looks so we shouldn't do it to animals either...thats how i see it anyway.
I have "ugly" dogs in other peoples eyes but to me they are beautiful and deserve the same kind of love and home "pretty" dogs get, ya know.
