OH, cruddy lumps!

Anyone have any idea what chocolate cake will do to a skink?
My daugter decided that Quigs wanted some of her leftover birthday cake, and I came downstairs to find her, Quigs, and my other two kids Covered in cake and frosting. I don't know if he ate any but should I be worried?
I washed him off thoroughly but I'm still a bit freaked.

Maybe call your vet?
I would say a small taste would be okay; but not any more than that.

Ok, called the Como Park animal hospital (It's a zoo in St. Paul) They said I shouldn't worry too much as there is not enough chocolate on chocolate cake to hurt him.
Whew.
I was about to go in to panick mode, and believe me I don't reach that point oftan.
THERE WILL BE NO MORE CHOCOLATE CAKE IN MY HOUSE! (I don't like chocolate much anyway.)

My kids are 4, 1 1/2, and 9 months.
The 4 year old knows better, as evidenced by her comment when she was discovered.
"But Ma, Quigly wanted something sweet! He didn't like his catfood."
Translation for non-parents:
"But Ma, I tried that catfood stuff and it didn't taste good to me, so I figured Quigly wouldn't like it either, and gave him something I like."

I love your little kid food-translation logic! I gotta say, having an ankle biting bluey is loads easier than having three young'uns who try and hop up the skinks on sugar-buzz-chocolate cake! Better you than me! (Nelson Muntz laugh. . .HAHA!)
(Of course, I'm only making fun if Quigs is going to be OK from his cake-feeding-bath!

I didn't know if it even was necesarily bad for them,some animals the slightest amount will killthem, others can eat as much as they want. That's what worried me, the not knowing.
I think it has to do with the caffine and flavinoids in it. Which is why the darker the chocolate and the higher the cacoa content, the more dangerous it is for animals that can't have it.

I'm glad they can't have it because that means more for me!!!!! Now if only cats couldn't eat seafood.
