i know, O.T, but just look (act interested!)

as you know i am a reptile liking kind of guy (shush).

anywhosel, as some of you may or may not know i have been keeping red eared terrapins for more than a year now, easy and affordable but grow fast and demand space!!

recently i re-homed my last two ( i said i wouldnt cry) meth and amphetamine...

my previous two being the calm squirtle and the rediculously aggresive cujo, apologies i have no pictures of these awesome foursome...

recently, being about a month ago now, i wanted just one turtle, red ears were sparce and i had my eye on one fancy looking thing that had been in the pet shop for some months, you aussies will be familiar with this, a snake necked turtle... his name is "borris" ladies and gentlemen (and kyle )

so after much debating, borrowing of money, and re decorating (the tank that is) i got this little guy home..to this:

ok so thats the home thats been there since march last year..

this little guy has become the talking point of our family now and of course my day to day life and as i am know (turtle, turtle guy, reptile man etc..my friends arent very imaginative )

yeah the tank was basically 500 down from 800 cause the guy needed room for the 1500 he was getting in, in a nother post i talk about how recently the light blew and the heater literally blew up so that was a shock...

i got some pebbeles and bleached them then sun baked them for a few days and got some rocks, i have the perfect flat rock for basking reptiles, sadly i cant take it with me next year, so i will have to find another....

yes, but to post something that large in the O.T section is to be an idiot, it would just take up space, whereas here i can show that i know its O.T and still have people post about that, i hate posting something which gets completly ignored and then i have to repost, promting usually a message from you saying "now now matt, no double posting"

the second to last picture, i snapped that literally a quarter of a second after he blinked lol, he looked so cute on the camera blinking and he was just moving his head really slowly, i took him out so i could clean the tank lol

as you can see hes still really tiny to, i think shell is about 4cm, but id have to check that out.

The rules are also that off-topic posts belong in the off-topic thread. Zach has put his foot down a number of times on this. It really has to do with the standing of the people on the board, however, it's really discouraged, because for one, people say just that, "Well it SAYS it's O.T., therefore it's okay," and it's not... secondly, when one personn sees someone do it, it takes a while to regain control since someone else, then another, then another begin to do it because they don't see the rules, or ignore them because of the lemming effect (everyone else is doing it, so why can't I?)

There's reasons, believe me.

kyle, i fully understand man, and usually i would place it in the off topic thread, but i just felt you know this is slighter bigger than "hey this is borris my snake necked" and one picture, if you got a new non, bts pet wouldnt you want it to be mentioned on and not ignored?

Honestly, I really don't care about a non-BTS brag post. If people really wanted to see everyone else's pets doing everything, vacations, school proms, whatever you have, it wouldn't be a BTS forum, now would it?

It shows two things, you're accepting the fact you broke the rules, and you're being a tad egotistical about showing off something non BTS related.

I'm not trying to jump on your case, but if you're going to continue to falsely justify your position, I'll defend the rules we all agreed to in order to post here.
