opinions on 'canned' insects?
Hi everybody, I was wondering what everyone thought of zoo meds and exo-terra's insects cooked in the can products? Live is always better but when you can't get live snails or silkworms, would the ones that are cooked in the can be a good alternative? I haven't really heard anything on whether those are healthy or not. Thanks in advance for any input.

I don't know... I wouldn't feed them to any of my animals unless it is an emergency like if the power went out and all the insect colonies will die off. That is just my personal opinion, since I don't really believe in canned food.
I have been denied of reptiles for 20 years, and I am busting out of the Parental Asylum!

The silk worms look so different than I expected them to! They are black and flat. I guess that's what happens in the freeze dry/cooking process.
The Can'osilkworms are actually the pupa not the worm, the worms bodies decentigrate too easily.
