Basking Tile Stand/Hide - how I built mine.

Someone was asking about this and I said I would post pictures. Well, I should have documented from the very start of the project, but here's the finished product:

I cut a 2X4 into 2 roughly 11 inch sections (I didn't measure until after I finished haha), and 1 6 inch section. Then screwed them together to form a U shape. After that I cut two triangles out of 2X4 to form a base for ramp. I screwed those into the U shaped base, and then cut out a piece of 3/4 inch plywood to fit as the ramp. This worked better than planned because the 3/4in. board made a lip at the top that fit the tile in nice and snug. For support, I cut two more triangles from 2X4, and screwed them into the inside corners of the U base. Finally, to reduce the risk of harming my blueys with splinters, etc. and to make it more aesthetically pleasing, I stapled on some green felt material. This also helps them grip the ramp while going to bask. Also, notice the tile hangs off of the non-ramp edge a bit.. they love to hide under this section just as much as they like it under the main section. Here are some pictures:

Can you remove the felt for cleaning if they poo on it?

I suppose I could if I had to, I would just have to staple it down again. I guess Velcro would be a good option instead of staples. Maybe I will do that for the next one.
