Good protein source?
Has anyone tried feeding ostrich as a protein source? I understand it is lean meat and wondered if it would be a good option. It is probably rather expensive but ... well the baby is pampered!

I've never eaten ostrich myself! I only ever eat antibiotic-free, non-hormone/vegetarian fed chicken, and my Chuff loves that! He likes garlic too,(he only gets it when we cook with it, say, like with the chicken,) but boy does he have rasty morning breath the next day when he yawns!
I've heard ostrich is almost more like red meat rather than chicken or turkey. Is that true?

Yes, Ostrich is red meat but is supposed to be leaner than chicken. I only buy organic meat for my little darling as well but have not thought about garlic. Wow that must be some overwhelming dragon breath on Chuff after a visit from the garlic fairy!
