a meal ive been using for the last couple weeks

ive been feeding this to my skinks for the last week or so and they both seem to attack it with great zeal, much more so than the meow mix or squash they were getting before.

i have been feeding a mixture of exo terra adult iguana, nearded dragon food and coy fish moyen. which together consists of mainly alfalfa, corn, shrimp, and fish meals. and i have been putting that in the food processor with a banana. i end up with a 2 to 1 mixture of the pellets to banana. i have also tried it with squash and collard greens. the consistency is a clumpy semi-paste. i have been putting a little reptivite on it as well.

i have a large group of rainbow boas and carpet pythons so i always have rats around, and i fed them each a couple pinkies last week.

this sound like a good diet?

I've heard of worse mate, my only concern is the fishy bits as they wouldn't be part of a natural diet, I gave my boy a few shrimps long ago and he loved them, but dont do it any more due to possible contamination and parasites.If the mix is nutritionally balanced you might'n need the dusting

The important part here is the Ca:P ratio, can you determine that?

Most people here are big fans of an all natural diet (meats/insects with veggies).

ive seen a video in youtube, feeding bts with RAW chicken heart and liver? is this safe?

Its a bit dodgey unless you know the source from where it came, I did used to feed chicken breast and steak raw, but only very rarely,he'd only eat pieces of steak un cooked, but now only gets cooked chick, if and when I feed it

How often are you feeding it? I have certain staples that I use, but a lot of their ingredients get changed on a weekly basis.

It's important to remember that just because they love eating something, that doesn't necessarily mean it's good for them. Just like people. Mine (and me) love chocolate and ice cream but alas!, they are a pleasure that should only be eaten sparingly by me, and not at all by my lizards.

Also, while a base of a clumpy or pasty consistency is ok, they still need hard things to keep their mouths and gums in good working order. So maybe blend a little less vigorously to retain a few hard chunks. Or add some chunks of veggies in afterwards.

Also, I've found that corn, even though they love it, doesn't seem a good veg because they don't seem to digest them well and they come out as whole kernels at the other end.

Drew, I feed mine raw meat (beef & lamb) occasionally, like a couple of pieces every couple of months, but the Ca:P ration is not great and too much of it can cause problems such as gout or general kidney/liver problems.

Yeah, I agree with the natural diet idea... though I think that raw meats are a little risky just because I think that since it's dangerous for humans to eat it, it's probably not too good for a skink. I'd try to throw some real shredded veggies and chicken or beef in there and less kitty food. I've also read that seafood is risky as well.
