Hi,

My name is Abel... I am the one w/the blonde hair in the pic... my boyfirend Ryan (the one w/the shaved head) and our dogs.. .Rockett and Vyno ( rockett is them min pin and vyno the I.G) This Saturday we will be adding a new member to our happy family... we are going to the Anaheim Nort American Reptile Breeder's Conference in CA on Sat. the 8th. To look and see if one will be available for us. We are looking for a baby male... we are not quite sure what species but we are excited to see what they might have to offer.

We are very excited as we've been doing lots of research on this beautiful animal. He's just what we've wanted. I have had many reptiles and amphibians growing up, but I've never had a Skink. I love them!! They are so unique and amazing, I can't wait!

I am very excited and thanks to this great site, I've learned a lot!!!! I think we are ready to take on this huge responsability and long commitment and bring home a new amazing member of our family!!!!

We can't wait! If anyone has any tips for us please do tell!!!! We are going shopping on Wed Sept 5 for everything we are going to need... so that on Sat. we can pick him up and bring him to his new comfy home!!! and his new family! :D

Welcome!

My advice is that if you buy a BTS at a reptile show, try to find a Northern. The vast, vast majority of Indonesians and Irian Jaya's are wild caught at all the reptile shows. Northerns will always be captive bred.

Good luck!

+ 2.2 Irian Jaya (Slurpy, Nona, Sassy, Cool Moe Dee)
+ 1.1 Eastern (Eugene, Enzo)
+ 1.2 Northern (Niko, Pearl, Peach)
+ 1.0 Tanimbar Island (TQ)

I think Andrew will be at the show and he has some beautiful Northerns. Maybe contact him prior to the show and arrange a get together while you are there?

We just got a bluey on Friday and as corny as it sounds she really has bought tons of joy to our family already. She is so sweet and we love her tons.

Welcome! Cute puppies!

I just got my first skinker a couple weeks ago, and I'm so happy. He's a cute little northern, and I'll be getting 2 more from Andrew Seike. He's a great breeder and he's within meeting distance. Whatever you get, make sure to post pictures! Once again, HI!

:btsnet: good luck with your skinky search, as said any of the breeders here are all top notch with great looking babies up for grabs{just a thought}, if you get one from the show dont be tempted by a cheap offer {there's usually a reason}and dont go for looks alone as personality is 70% of the joy of fatherhood, if you're told its definately a boy/girl and its a young skink{under a year} dont believe them, sexing at such an age is a lotto, and yes pictures of the new fella ARE THE LAW,we dont tire of good photo's boys
MMMmmmmm... Something???????

I posted info in your new thread, but here it is again:
-send a pm to AndrewSeike
-e-mail at andrewseike@seikereptiles.com
-website is http://www.seikereptiles.com

He is very busy at times, but I find e-mail usually gets a speedy response. Welcome.

I noticed in your profile that you were thinking about a tanimbar. I bought a captive bred tanny from Andrew last year. I know people always caution against buying a tanimbar, but I personally love mine. Yes, she can be a little fiesty at times, but it's that spunky nature that makes her adorable. Compared to my IJs, she is so much more alert and responsive. I do not regret adopting her at all! I am interested who would win in a battle between an IG and a tanny.
