Possible reasons for vomiting?

yoshi vomited up his food last night, temps im pretty sure are around 100 for the hot end (maybe 110? i cant remember) and in the 80s for cool end.

had water and no other signs of illness, im keeping an eye on him as the caresheet said once or twice isnt a problem. im hoping thats the end of it.

Any idea of why? just an upset tummy?

I have always been told, I don't neccesarily know if this is true, but they only regurgitate their food if they are under stress. Is this the only time this happened?

i doubt it is stress though, he has been here for 3 or 4 months and never showed any signs of aggression and gets left alone a lot. he never showed any signs of being stressed at all.

What did you feed him, was it anything new?
if not maybe he just doesn't like your cooking, lol.

Yeah, common reasons can be stress or temperatures that are cold, especially if it goes from hot to cold rapidly. Like letting him eat when he's used to a warm cage, then taking him out for the day.

Sometimes they just get an upset stomach....in which case, hopefully, is a temporary thing!

What about cold to hot?

If so, then I think I found a cause. I remember now that the day I fed him I forgot to turn the temp up from the night but I assumed that they would just treat it as a colder day as they would be prepared for.

I think fed him and turned up the temp at the same time. He brought the food back up the next night. Could that have done it?


He has had the food many times before, its his "staple" food which seeing as its chicken, I'm about to change to something more calcium friendly.

He is captive bred but spend a month or two outside in his previous owners outdoor pit, could they have gone this long (4ish months) without showing symptoms?

due to their metabolism many reptile complaints take ages to reveal themselves.

I would not worry if your bluey only throws-up once but if it continues that is what I would suspect. You could consider using Panacur as a preventative against many form s of worms.

Did you check out the pavement pizza to see if there was any worms or suck like in it?Did it look part digested or still whole?What temp was the food,did it come straight out of the fridge or was it room temp.?Hope its just a one off for you mate

The poop looked normal and since then he has wee'd and the white urates look normal.

The food was roomish temp. It had been in his enclosure to warm up for a little while.

I didn't feed him tonight in case he still isn't feeling too crash hot. I'll have a go tomorrow and see what happens.

If he were sick would he be showing any other signs? i.e throwing up bile?

He looks healthy, I gave him a look over and breathing is fine and normal and he seems to be in good shape.
