Digger(Rudy) just arrived!

Digger (Slurpy and Sassy's baby Rudy) arrived yawning and yawning and yawning :shh: he sat there in his bag for a while and then ran for cover and burried himself! Zach said he is in shed so I was wondering when I feed him should I dig him up or just leave him alone? I put his food in with him about an hour and a half ago and he isn't showing any signs of coming out. Here is his first picture in his new home and a picture of his homeImage
well it won't resize the pictures and it took me forever to do this one so the full tank shot will have to wait and as soon as Digger is out and about I will post more pictures.

Congrats on your new baby. He will come out and eat if he is hungry. If he is in shed he may not be interested in eating anything. Make sure he has food and water available and let him chill out after that long trip in the mail. :lounge:

:goodluck:

Congratulations on Digger, he looks like a handsome young skinkyy :)

He is still getting use to his new enclosure so give him time, and if his in shed he probably might not come out as much nor eat..
but as tattoo mentioned, make sure he has food and water available, so theres something there when he does get hungry or thirsty ;)

Glad he made it safe! He's not "in shed" yet, but he will shed in likely a week or less. If you want, feel free to pick him up and hold him in your lap in a quiet room, that would be fine... :)

Then, when you put him back, have the food in there and push his nose in it a little bit and he will probably eat.

Thanks everyone, he is so sweet, yesterday we did as Zach suggested and he was so good, crawled all over my sons lap and then ate almost all of his food then used the paper towel roll in his cage as a napkin! it was so cute. I wish I had thought to have my camera handy for it, i will try today to get a picture of it, if he does it again

That shot of him venturing out of the bag is adorable. Looks like you have a comfy tank for him to enjoy. I empathize with you and uploading pix. Do you have dial up too? :?

Congrats on the new baby. Sometimes they hide a bit when they first arrive. I'd hide too if somebody put me in a bag and shipped me UPS!

No I just don't really know how to resize my pictures, when I save them to the computer from my camera they are huge. It just took me forever to get that one picture the right size to upload!

UploadPic should automatically resize them...but it can have trouble if the picture is astonomically huge....like 3+ MB.

Send them all here, and I'll help you! zach@bluetongueskinks.net

How's he doing today?

I think I got it figured out will see if these work, I took a few pictures of Digger exploring Jonathan's room and his viv yesterday, he is so sweet and friendly, I am a little consernd though, he won't stay in his basking light ( i think he is still a little to shy of us) and he makes the cuties little squeek when he is breathing, almost like a squeeky toy just softer and quieter, is that normal/ok?

When we placed him back in his cage to eat he only took a few licks and then explored his cage some.

Thank you so much for the offer Zach, I figured it out, I saw on the upload screen that the pixels can't be over 2000 width and 3000 higth so I resized to those peramiters and it worked!

It's Collard Greens, Spaghetti Squash, Mango, and Chicken and Giblets cat food. is it to runny? my food chopper made the veggies to much like puree'. he scarfed it down the first day but then would only take a few bites the 2nd and 3rd day. should I try hand chopping the veggies for today?

my baby did the same

CONGRATS ON UR NEW BABY FIRST OF ALL!!!

Watson my NEW baby is the same way... He likes it when I crush (by hand) raspberries and place them on top of the food... he loves it! ;)

Also.. I give him worms for snacks as well as small snails :)

Watson loves it.

The consistency... I change it all the time... I try to give him different ones sometimes more mushy... sometimes less.. since I am getting to know him.. he likes a good mid consistency, not to mushy and not too choppy. DON'T you GUYS JUST LOVE YOUR NEW BABY!! WE are soooo happy we got Watson. ;)

later on... I will post pics of his new carring case :) for when we go visit grandma !:) heheh! look out for those on the main post later today :)
