My poor baby is so uncomfortable. You can see it in her face. Here is a pic of her working on the last of her shed this time around.

I can't wait till it's over so I can hold her. At this point she doesn't want to be bothered. Can you blame her?

I wonder if its like having a sun burn, its kind of fun to peel because it itches, but the new skin underneath is somewhat tender? Chuff loved having me to rub against to peel his last shed off. It was almost a bonding thing for us, but he's an older guy. :D

Aww, poor grumpy skinky. Does she have a humid hide? I came home once to find my skink looking like that. I put in a humid hide for him, and after 15 minutes in there the shed seemed to melt right off. He crawled across the basking tile and left a path of shed...like slug slime.

Poor Sammy's face just says it all. Leave me alone---I'm having a rough day!

throw a damp wash-cloth in her tank for about 15 minutes. it'll be gone in no time.

... sorry if that's against the rules, but i figure a skink in the wild would try to find something wet to help out...

If that's just leftover shed, you should be able to just rub it right off! Sometimes it's actually off, but just stuck to the scales because of the we oils produced to help remove the old shed.

What a beaut!

I had a little wet papertowel in a bowl of a little bit of water for her but I don't know if she got it in or not this time.

I was just about to make a humid hide for her out of a tupperware bowl when I looked over and she was all new and shiny! lol :D I'll have to post some pic's of how bright and fresh she looks now. I'll try to over the weekend...

It's amazing to me how a bluey's disposition changes back to a happy little bluey after they finish shedding. Here are some pic's of Sammy today. She is all over the tank and peeking out at me. She even let me pet her head without running away. :D

She's so light and creamy looking! At first I thought she looked Eastern with the lack of portholes. She's so pretty. How old is she? How long is she? She looks so much happier without the shed.

Thanks for the compliments! She is a northern from Zach's Mama Skink Peaches and Daddy Skink Niko. She was born on June 28th so I guess that makes her about 3 months old. Ya know, it's just about time I found out how long she is. I haven't measured her in a while. She was the runt of the litter when I got her (about 7 inches long). Maybe I'll do some measuring tomorrow and let ya know. 8)

Thanks Tatoo! I never really thought about her legs having spots but they are pretty neat looking now that you said something! lol
