I am looking for a good place to buy Waxworms from.
Can anyone recommend a good site?

I know PetSmart sells them
Best days to get them fresh are Tuesdays and Thursdays when they get their cricket / worms shipments in *cough inside info cough*

not all petsmarts get them on the same days....feeders come on fridays in the southwest.
also, make sure that you check them first, any pet store that does a low vollume in feeders can have them sitting there for quite some time and then you get moths, and with mealworms, beetles.

Well, with waxworms you would get moths, not beetles

I dont see it as too much of a problem as they'll eat moths and beetles, well mine does any way.

My petco something has them but mostly doesn't. I have a reptile and fish store by my house that normally has them. I also order worms from mulberryfarms.com.

problem with them turning into beetles is that they are beetles, move fast, and tend to escape
my first day as specialty manager, i inventoried the fridge with the live food in it...every single cup of mealworms were beetles...not really a fun first day for me.

waxworms are VERY bad to have in your house... you do not want the moths getting out...

They did at mine and they were pretty active my lilly tore them up. the others didnt want them.

Also always check the containers to make sure they are alive >.>...<.<...>.>...Sometimes they are is the store for a while if not many people buy them....

Nomad, That makes sense!
I have a local petshop that carries waxworms. The Petcos I have been to say they carry butterworms, but they never have them in when I check. I asked, and they said they don't get enough requests. . .
I figure, why advertise something if you don't have it? Instead, just advertise that you can get them upon request.
THey do carry waxworms though.
