I have three beardies that I keep together ( one male & two female), and I have never had any sort of problem with them. I keep them in a 65 long gallon tank. Before that, the two female were kept together. I have a big male thats way too aggresive, so he stays alone in his tank. I don't understand why you couldn't keep babies together? Unless you don't know the sexes of them?

Jacob, do you have a lid on the tank? Beardies can really jump well! When my one male was a baby, I had him out and he jumped up over my head and under my bed. Scared me big time!

Erica

I wasn't saying not to house them together at all. But for Jacob's situation I don't know if I'd recommend that he keep them together. What if they bred before he had the chance to stop them? Breeding can be hard on the female, especially if she's too young.

And I don't think the babies will have trouble finding their food as long as Jacob doesn't put them in anything bigger than a 20-gallon. 20-gallons are also much better for thermoregulation.

The babies do need to be separated, though, if there starts to be a noticeable size difference between them. So at the very least, Jacob, you have to watch babies closely to make sure everything is going okay. But from what I've read, babies definitely benefit from being housed together for awhile (or at least within sight of each other) because they learn behaviors from their siblings, but at their age and size I think they can be separated without problems.

I do think Beardies are definitely more social animals than blue tongues. I know that Leneevik would probably be happier with a female companion, or at least a female he got to see during the breeding season ;), but I have no interest in breeding. When I adopted Leneevik I was also told that he was female by his very uneducated owner . Anyway, I'll put an end to this little spiel before it gets any longer... ;)

I personally have a rescue beardie with half a tail and about four toes total left (that is for all four feet!) because he was kept from a young age with another beardie that ended up being a male and beat the crap out of him. I highly recommend not keeping them together.

easy dude!

Yes, it's definately not bs, as long as they are in a smaller tank. 10-15 I"d suggest. larget tanks they will have a hard time to catch their food.

I raise and breed beardeds. Have for the past 5 years. I'll through in my two cents, even though I haven't finished reading the post, so I"m not sure if this was already mentioned but here we go.

Beardeds can be housed together about 6 months they should be separated unless they are both females. Males don't usually become of breeder size before 8 months but you do get the exception that will try at 6. Females SHOUD NOT be bred untile at least 18 months of age and if housed with a male before hand he WILL breed her.

If housing bearded babies together you MUST make sure they get plenty of food and even feeding out of the cage separately is beneficial. Often babies housed together will mistake a foot, hand, or tail of another for food and this sometimes causes loss to the bitten bearded.
Young dragons should be fed a min. of 2 times a day but can be fed as much as 3-4 if they will still eat all the crickets at the last feeding. I have found that feeding greens in the morning is best as they eat more at this tiem. ;)
You should definately check that divider you have, looks like it could fall down and you don't want to hurt one of your babies by accident. I can see you really love them.
Also You might want to do something a little different with your lighting. Looks like you might have a fire hassard putting it right over the divider like that. And you need to get your beardeds a uv light. They absolutely NEED this light for digesting their food along with the basking area of about 110.
I"m sure you know to stay away from heat rocks but you can use a uth on a thermostate if you want to give them ground heat, which is good for their belly. Or just put a nice regular rock right under the heat light.
Give your beardeds a bath or misting outside the cage at least every other day and make sure to dust their crickets with calcium once a day and vit. once a week.
I think I've covered all the basics. If you have any more questions you have my email. ;)
They are very sweet!! And I wish you the best. Just please make sure to separate them if you end up with a pair. Females will get egg bound and die if bred too soon.
And your female is very nicely colored!
Here are some of my babies pics. ;)

Thanks. Hey I already changed the lighting. I did look really bad. I put in a light on both sides because the one light didn't seem like it was working for me. The divider is very strong, you don't have to worry about it falling.

I want another beardie!!!! :leftout:

I'll throw in my 2 cents....
The tank setup looked a little shaky to me for babies. Make sure the heat gradient from one side to the other in such a small area is OK. And be sure to only use Reptisun 10.0 or better UV.

Good luck with them. They are adorable!!!
