I think this is a mutt. The tail seems short for a meruke, and the legs are not solid.However, it might be a regional variation, or a natural intergrade.

We need to know where it came from before we can accuratly tell.

I voted Merauke as was my first guess when you posted pics before. He has interesting banding. He could be a hybrid too...it's kind of hard to tell. Just call him a T. gigas.

Yep, one of the "in betweeners". I'm with Nomad, an Indonesian just has to have the solid black legs (for the most part) and somewhat heavily speckled body. This guy is pretty smooth looking. And yeah, that banding is different.... :chin:

Ok, new at this, but what does "ssp" mean? I know tiliqua is the scientific name. Help out a nebie here guys, lol! thanks, Marine

Actuallly the proper annotation would be spp. with 2 p's and this denotes the word "species" in the plural form. If it was written as sp. it would signify a single member of a species.

Well he finaly shed, he/she looked dull ever since I got him last week, and finally shed almost all off today, I will check feet & tail tomorrow to make sure it's all off. And will try to get more pics, maybe it might help to identify him. ??? maybe..lol he's a lite pink on chin and underbelly, stripes on all his legs, back & tail-the stripes are light color inside stripe, and darker brown line on outside of stripe. I will try to get pics on here later, thanks to everyone on help with trying to identify him/her. Marine

maybe these new pics might help identify him? idk, just a thought, lol..he's a real sweety, never tries to bite-or hiss-or anything like that, mostly calm while being handled, sometimes gets a little squirmy, lol but he/she is just a baby, lol....Marine

I don't think you'll ever know for sure. It's difficult to tell between Indo and Merauke, but looks a lot like my Bayou and like I said those feet are huge! So I stick with Merauke.
