Bouviers are great! If you are ever in Indiana, you can come meet mine. LOL. I will admit, she doesnt have the temperment of a Bouvier (according to the breed standards) but I actually am glad she doesnt. She lacks in the courage department, but she has come a long ways since I have gotten her.

I took him to the vet clinic a friend of mine works at last week to meet a dog I was thinking about adopting and I walked in the door and a little girl...maybe 5 yrs old, looks at her mom and goes "Mommy, there's a mean dog!" Argh, I wanted to scream! I should have made him wear his delta society vest or something. haha

Just to add, Dobes are also very, very loyal dogs. My next large breed dog will be a dobe.

Many years ago I worked at a humane society. At the time Bouviers were very rare in this country. One day the shelter got in a "giant schnauzer". I got a phone call and a man asked in a heavy accent; "Do you have any 'boooviay day flan-driss'? I laughed and then said, "Pardon me?" They repeated the question. I told them I had no idea what they were asking me. They frustratingly asked, "DOGZ! DO YOU HAVE ANY DOGZ?!" "Yes, we have dogs" I answered with a laugh. "I am looking for ze large dog with ze fluffy face." The light bulb clicked on and I asked them, "does this large dog look like a giant schnauzer?" "What is this schnauzer?" was the reply. This went back and forth like an abbott and costello "whose on first" conversation. I finally got them to come in to take a look at ze large fluffy faced dogz. It was a Bouvier de Flandres.

Thats funny Kristine! Everyone asks what kind of dog Lexi (my Bouvier) is. I tell them Bouvier and they respond "What?" I have always thought it would be funny if I get a Giant Schnauzer and a Black Russian Terrier along with my current Bouv just to confuse the heck out of people! I might as well throw in a Scottish Terrier so people think I have a puppy too! lol

Today is so so nice!!!! It's in the high 60's!!!!! We took Christopher out with us at recess. He ran around his playpen not phased at least by the other classes of kids that were checking him out. I love Spring and Summer!!!!

My aunt and uncle are Bouiver people. Their current Bouveer, Thunder, is the most well-behaved, gentle dog ever. He came to my wedding reception, and everybody thought he was the coolest dog. The guests thought he looked like a bear.

When my family lived here in Tucson, we would take our dog to get groomed at a place owned by a Bouvier breeder. Her dogs were gorgeous and so mellow. It was always easy to spot our yellow lab sleeping among the big black dogs when we went to pick her up :)

We had a fox sneek into the sick bird section , and eat a teal duck with botulism , so it couldn,t move . So ive got a reminton .217 and a fox wistle , as all the lakes are dry , this guy has to go , or we will have a masacre of sick birds -There dead crafty digging under the fences . This is a tiny bullet but goes preety quick .

Also for all the guys that love big boys toys and girls ...So cool little jet motor 300 km per hour model plane

We seem to have ended up back on guns again, after less than a page.

I suppose hugging a fox wouldn't save the birds, and you'd probably need a tetanus and a rabies shot, plus a lot of bandages at the least afterwards. :hehe:
