I was surprised, they ate NOTHING! I even tried to entice them with dandelions but no go. My dragons go insane over them, they just have to see yellow and they assume it's a dandelion, even if it's not, lol. I might toss one in their food dish and see if they try it then.

nice pics! I'm surprised your bluey was able to chase down that person, but he looks pretty proud of his catch! No wonder they didn't want any greens, hehe. :)

I love that last picture of Freckles. I think you should turn it into your avatar.

lol, yep. He was born with a birth defect so has always had it, thus we also have had a pretty good sense of humor about it. The time we "lost" it at Walmart was a little embarrassing though, lmao. That's when he was just a little tyke and able to sit in the cart and it just slipped off without us even realizing it.

We've been to the beach and kids will ask him what happened and he says with a straight face "Shark attack". LMAO!

haha @ the shark attack. It's always good to see kids adapt well to things like that, one of my best friends is a quad with no arms past the elbow, and very short legs also, and was a state level wrestler all throughout highschool.

There is a comedian out here in Australia who's awesome. His name is Adam Hills, and if he ever tours out your way, you should try and see him. He was born with a deformed right foot (which was removed surgically to fit the prosthesis he now wears). He shares funny stories in his shows, and did a whole show a few years back called "Happy Feet". His mum had saved up his old prostheses through childhood for sentimental value, and he brought on a bunch for "Show and Tell".

One of the best stories from that show was about the one they had specially designed with a groove between the toes when he was a teenager, so that he could wear thongs (that's flip flops) like his friends. His mum had to put velcro on the prosthesis and on his "foot" so the thong would stay on!

Add to that he is an absolutely lovely person. Very approachable, genuinely nice guy.

Thanks, I'll have to check out his site! I actually did the "saving up" of old prostheses, but finally got rid of all of them except his first. Austin has a website too at www.amazingaustin.com which has helped alot people who have kids dealing with similar issues. And it really helps some people to know it's ok to have a sense of humor about it all. We sure do.

Sandals are a real pain to try fit him with. And getting all the sand out of the parts after being at the beach. It's usually months later and he's still leaving a little sand trail, lol.

I've got a mate with a false leg, a sense of humour is essential, the rugby boys at the pub used to nick it and do the "leg of ale" , it was all in good fun.

Speaking of famous people with false limbs, did you know that Robert David Hall, who plays Dr. Al Robbins (the coroner) in CSI, is a double amputee?

He lost both his legs after a nasty accident in 1978 (car was cleaned up by an 18-wheeler). He suffered burns to 65% of his body.

He's a major spokesperson for people with disabilities in the industry, and has been on the board of and chaired the Performers With Disabilities Committee.

Ruth, you're just a wealth of info! I didn't know that and I watch CSI all the time! Another one I'll have to check out.

I checked out Adam Hills stuff and he's hilarious. I even sent him an email telling him I thought he was doing a great thing and told him about Austin. I got a very nice personal reply back from one of his people and was told that Adam WILL DEFINITELY see my email and I could except to hear from him personally in a few days. How cool is that? And they pointed me to the thong video on utube!

Thank ya Brad! Looks like I'm going to be hanging around here lots, since my family doesn't enjoy seeing my pics near as much as everyone here does...go figure. They keep wanting to see the "real" kids, geez!

So I figured it was time to make a real avatar. :)
