Tank question

i am getting a new tank for tink. I have a bigger one that I borrowed from a friend. Now it is time for Inkies new bigger home. I found this one on glass cages.com. It is arcylic with a sliding glass front. Is this ok? this is a sample pic. It is going to be a 70 gallon. Please give me our thoughts

i've heard good things about their enclosures. I'm sure Inkie will love it!

definitely not cheap though, I looked there but will prolly end up building one unless i see a good piece of furniture to modify or a good deal on an enclosure locally.

I have Wings & Freckles in cages from glasscages.com. I bought them from Jeanne & Don when I got my new kids. I think they are the 65 gallon. I LOVE THEM! Easy to get into and clean.

You are correct...they are 65 gallon. You have the cages looking great!!


Krista...the 65 gal. is cheaper than the 70 gal. The only difference in them is the height. The 70 gal. is slightly taller but Bluey's don't need the extra height so you can save some money by getting the 65 gallon size.

I just picked up one of their new grey tanks (I have five of their all glass sliding glass tanks.) The grey one is so, so much lighter. All of mine are 65 gallon. I love sliding glass fronts. It really helps with my flightier blueys and it's great not to have to move the lights.

My goodness, if that doesn't look like a viv from Nasa. I know I'm not the only poor one here, but how much does that sort of thing cost???? It looks lovely!

So exactly which model is yours? The 65 gallon granite acrylic? Being that much lighter would be a huge bonus.

Totally! I hated messing with the lights every time I wanted to get a bluey out. The biggest problem I'm having with my cages right now is substrate getting kicked over the edge, then when you open the door all the pieces fall all over the ground. I don't want to make the lip any higher though!

Your cage looks good! I'm confused though, I read Tink, then I read Pink in another one, now I'm reading Ink? Am I behind on something?

I have 5 of the 65 gallon totally glass ones and one of the 65 gallon granit acrylic ones. With the screen top the cage cost $150. I think it's totally worth it.

Jenn, which do you like better, the all glass or the granite?

Mine are all glass. It seems like there is less viewing area with the granite, although being lighter would be a bonus.

You can get them here, or similar, at Ultimate Reptile Supplies. They're incredibly light and I think they're not bad for the price compared to buying a glass tank, timber stand then staining it, light stand etc (I think they send them flatpack) . I saw them at a reptile show, but mine are all used to open top, high glass tanks, and to put them in an enclosed one now, I don't think they'd like it. My dudes like to climb.
