Crickets....
Does anyone have a BTS that doesn't like fast moving live food? LittleFoot has eaten a pinkie (frozen) and superworms as his meat source, but just has no interest in crickets.... I threw 5 in about 30 minutes ago and nothing. He hasn't eaten since Thursday and he usually eats within 5 minutes when he is fed.

My skink does not do crickets; i think he's too lazy to try to catch them. Try some of the other meats listed on the caresheet, such as chicken. Crickets are not a very good food anyways.
The Humane Society took Michael Vick's pit bulls, asked for public money to help them, then decided it would be best to kill them... adopt from No Kill shelters http://www.roas.petfinder.com

Quigly likes crickets and it's fun to let him stalk em down even though they aren't very nutritous it at least gives him some enrichment and excersize I gut load em and dust em first then their not completly non nutriative but it's more for his entertainment than food.

Bubba doesn't eat crickets either. I think they are both too fast and too small for his tastes. His favorites are probably nightcrawlers.

I've never given Rollie a night crawler either... I think those are on the caresheet food chart as far as nutrition is concerned. I believe they're fairly low in fat, if anything.

Whilst they love live food, bluetongues aren't really that predisposed to eating fast food. They are slow moving and ground dwelling and prefer to eat the stuff that is within their ability to overcome, such as snails, worms, grubs, beetles etc more so than things that move fast, jump or can fly.
So I'm not surprised that blueys don't show as much interest in things like crickets as they do for things like snails. I gave mine tin cricket once. They were yucky and they smelled weird. I wouldn't buy live ones, I couldn't handle the noise.

i caught the 5 out of the tank and gave them to my brother in law for his beardies....I ordered some silkworms from mulberry's to try and if he likes them I might try my hand at the eggs. LittleFoot did eat his first snail today, I wasnt sure how to give it to him so I tried it first live without crunching the shell, he ate that nooooo problem. I am amazed more and more every day by the different things he will eat and try and like and not like.

I noticed that when i've given crickets to my guys that my blueys need to be well warmed beforehand. otherwise like you guys, they just can't be bothered. Roaches run and hide so they are a waste of time, snails and pinkies are the shiznit!!! with the exception of my thin eastern - everyone else goes stupid over them.
What is a silkworm? a catapillar? alos what is a nightcrawler? Sounds evil.

Heh, I forgot we Americans have strange names for our animals at times too.
I have my fishing nightcrawlers in my 'fridge as we speak. If Rollie did like them, those guys are really easy to breed and keep. A large tupperware bin in the refridgerator, a half cup of water sprinkled every other day and leave a slice of bread on top, I'd have fish bait AND bluey food...
