Trojan passed away
HI guys,
sorry its hard to type and cry! This morning I woke up to find Troj gasping for air and he wouldnt cling to his rock, he just fell off it. I found the nearest reptile vet (45 mins away) but after about 20 mins of driving he looked like he had passed. I stopped off at a normal vet and they looked at him and said that he had died.
Feeling very sad and upset, and missing Troj.
Anyway thanks for all your help so far guys, I'm not sure if I will get another bluie I'm a little too scared of killing it after what happened to Troj.

Oh crap, I'm so sorry for your loss.
Do you know what did it? I am really worried now - cuz chopper threw up as I've already said and if troj died - well I don't want chopper dying.
I know it could've been a massive co-incidence but still - better to be safe hey?

oh no, Kate. That is heartbreaking to hear. I too, lost a little one once and it was devastating.
Blueys make a great addition to the family, I hope in the future you reconsider. Sometimes you know with babies, things just aren't right from the get go. How long had you had him? Was he from someone reputable?
In reptiles it is hard to make a diagnosis as symptoms don't show until it's too late, or not at all. Mine was fine in the morning and by the time I got home he was all but gone. Similar to yours. I don't know why, he was only 3 months old. The only thing I can think of, just on the little that you have provided, maybe his diet was not quite optimum for a growing little fella. I'm definately not saying that his passing is your fault, or that that is why he died. Sometimes they just do. Nothing you or anyone could have done anything about it.
I do hope you reconsider. You'll never replace little Troj but there are plenty of blueys out there waiting for loving and caring homes. There are plenty of aussie breeders on here too that can provide you with one, and this website will help you heaps.

I'm so sorry.
I also lost a pet this week - my mother in law's dog was hit by a car. Cara was like a member of the family. I don't think a lot of people realise that losing a non-human family member can be as traumatic as losing a human one.

I'm so sorry for you Kate. As Lisa mentioned, she and I both lost blueys suddenly as you did. It is a shock that you will never quite recover from. But you can and should move on when you are ready.
I suspect melamine in cat food killed my bluey, but I will never know for sure. I am still not ready for another and don't know if I ever will be. It was devastating.
We all feel your pain.

My thoughts are with you Kate - best not to think about another Bluey at the moment - creatures we love are not replacable - farewell a special friend for the now - Later if your thoughts turn to all the lovely little blueys out there that want a loving home like yours - then you might reconsider.
