New Guy

Postby JWSR » Wed Jun 20, 2007 10:00 am

Hello to all.

I joined this site last fall and have been lurking, learning, and enjoying it ever since. I had nothing to post because I didn't have a bluey. I've kept herps since the late '50's (no 'old age' jokes please) and have never been more fascinated with an individual species as I have with the blue tongue, which I accidently discovered while searching some reptile sites. The members bluey pictures, and the stories got me hooked. Love at first sight!

I currently have "Si" a 7 year old 8'-9" Boa constrictor imperator, "Hannibal" a 2 year old 21.5" Bearded Dragon, and "Juanita" a one year old 24" Apricot Pueblan Milksnake. I just had to have a bluey!

Well, yesterday was my day! 3pm, and Fedex pulls up and rings my bell.
Wow, a special package from Ray Gurgui. And, by the way, what a great guy to talk to and to deal with!

So everyone, I'd like you to meet my new baby, "Irwin," named after the late great conservationist and herp enthusiast.

Thanks for letting me ramble on about my new family member. I know I'm going to enjoy this little guy's company for a long long time. Please keep me in line if I tend to post too many "growing up" pictures.

Best Wishes All,
Jerry

Hey John,

I had to look and see what you got. Beautiful Tanimbar. I saw #04 sold to Nomad at Ray's Site. Very nice color!

Thank you all for the welcome! I'll definitely be posting more pics after he's settled in good. So far he's eating good, and not very timid at all. I think he's gonna have a great personality.

Yo Jerry! Nice to have you here mate!

Those jokes you were talking about - were they of a disease nature? That wouldn't be a very nice thing to joke about!

Your little guy is a beauty! irwin - good name! Steve's probably smiling because of it!

Hi Leigh,

Pardon my ignorance, but, what exactly are "portholes?"

I'm a moron. If anyone read this post before I edited it - you'd know why - otherwise - just know I'm a knob.

Blotch, I didn't get to read the pre-edit, but did you by any chance start talking about nautical terms?

Fatal - Nah - but that did enter my head at first - that is only part of the reason I'm a knob. Just sit back and laugh at me - All is good in the hood!
