Creative Enclosure Ideas

I am wondering if someone has the link to a site with creative enclosure ideas. I know someone (Jenn, I think?) made an enclosure out of what looks like a kitchen hutch? I will need to make a larger enclosure for my Sammy pretty soon and I want as many ideas as possible!

If you have a old clothes drawer or anything like that, or even an old book shelf/book case.
They can make great size bts enclosures.

Look two places on the forum!
Go to "site map" (top scroll bar) and select "build an enclosure" and you will find a bunch of indoor and outdoor enclosures.
Then, go to "photo album" and choose "BTS enclosures." There are some neat "conversions" and homemade enclosures.
Also, Colin Hamilton has a way cool outdoor enclosure that you can "search." Colin, can you put pictures of your "castle" somewhere so that we can always access and drool over that enclosure. (I don't know when they will be deleted from your thread but they are too awesome to lose!!! Besides, I keep referring people to them!)
If you can make one, there are some really great examples on the forum. Have fun "window shopping!"

Anyway, Thanks for directing me to search for more enclosures. Can't wait to do something creative on my own and post the pic's!

Funda, about how big of a cloths drawer are we talking? Do you mean to fix it up and then place it in the bottom of a larger container with sliding glass doors? I can't wrap my brain around a cloths drawer being large enough...

Should I clarify! In the BTS classifieds, there is a dresser that was converted into a skink enclosure. Or, did I do something else squirrely?

My recent pictures are of the outdoor pen that I made. 6 of my guys are in sliding glass fronts from glasscages.com and the other two are in cages my dad made for me. One or two skinks look pretty in furniture type cages but once you get up to eight it's hard to have enough places to put them and I like to have my guys all in one place.

Yeah, that was mine. It hasn't sold in case anyone is interested. I built it out of an old oak dresser, and basically I just gutted it (except for half of the bottom drawer) and refinished the inside, waterproofed the inside, and added glass to the top and a open down glass door on the front. It looks quite nice, and it wasn't THAT hard to do.

I've been checking out the IKEA catalog for stuff that could be converted. Goodwill and Salvation Army are always possibilities for neat used furniture, but you really can't go wrong with IKEA's style, and the prices are usually amazing. Plus their cafeteria rocks.

Take out the bottom 4 drawers and this would make something really spacious:

Heck yeah it would. I love Salvation Army and Goodwill. I have found myself looking at random garage sales lately too.

At least the furniture you guys got are nice. All the used ones here are beyond repair. I have to go to another city to find some decent used furnitures.

Why buy a new bit of furniture and smash it into a Bluey drome , just buy the raw materials and make what you like

I've been taking your advice and checking out everywhere from Ikea (thanks Hijinks) to Goodwill lately. SO many ideas!

Aggiegirl, I was just teasing you because you posted in duplicate. Thanks for leading me to Russman's converted dresser! His creation is beautiful! I don't know if he'd be willing to ship to Maryland but I really do like that tank. Would you think it's the equivalent to a 40 gallon as far as length? I wonder if I could get my husband to build me one?

Funda, I get what you were saying. I thought you meant just the drawer but you were talking about the whole dresser. duh Don't mind me.
I have a senior moment here and there.
