That is IF I can pull it off. I don't like socializing on Halloween much (it's kind of a costumed St. Paddy's Day, barf...) but I sure like the idea of Halloween.

I always dress the same on Halloween, It's my night to show my unrepressed self.

last halloween, i dressed up in a black cape and hood, made a sythe from some wood down the valley and an old piece of metal, shapened it up (i was safe!)

anyway i sat on the roof of the garage so you could only just see my outline but not the sythe, then when the little kids cam out with their backs to me i drop really quietly and then smoothly creeo up behind them and say "im death, what is your final wish" one of the older kids said "matt your an isiot we know its you cause your not in the party" then lol, this was funny (mum didnt think so) i drove the end of the scythe into the drivewy and said "if i was then that wouldnt happen" then i chased them a bit hten i got the scythe and hid again lol...

lets just say for the scythe in the driveway bit i had to pay for it to get fixed haha...but mum thought it was good, finally a decent costume in the family

I'm not a fan of Halloween here is Aus. Yay for it in America and all, but that's what it is, an American tradition.

And the Aus kids just don't try. They don't get dressed up or nothing, you just get bunches of them in their normal gear banging on your door. And big kids, too, not little ones! Big burly teenagers who'd probably come back and rob you if you don't pay out. I think I might try being a crazy old lady and lecture any who turn up this year. Or chuck cats at them. I live in the sticks but, so we don't get many. Haven't had any for the last few years anyway so my ranting might have to wait. Oh well, it just means I'll be older, crazier and surlier.

And like I'm going to share sweets with anyone else. Pff!!! As IF!!

go lisa! woot! thats the idea, last year when we were in the house at iona (girls boarding school) a bunch of the boarders came up and did the whole trick or treat thing and i answered th door and said your not getting anything cause i have to clean your dishes

I love Halloween! I love to dress up, carve pumpkings, decorate and all the candy!!! Lisa, I would think you'd love the holiday for that reason alone!

austalia and new zealand to be in the same boat here,

no one really gets in the spirit, or dresses up loads (little 4 year olds go around with their parents but yeah) its usually a school night so its pretty boring and the only thing we usually do if its like a saturday or something is have a party at our house, theres really a spirit of halloween here,

you yanks can just keep on tricking and treating all you want and well just be the ones that dont for political reason tehehe

If you'll notice, about 70% of my great nation has decided that whole idea needs some rethinking. Hardly an "American," ideal. There's a difference between democracy and ego. Our president hasn't "figgured" that out yet.
