my skink has a dent

my B.Ts tail has an odd little dent on the side, i was guessing that he pushed it against something too long and made a mark but i want to hear your opinion

It looks like a ding, is the flesh soft and flexible and bone allignment straight or does it feel under pressure and inflamed? Can you see anything that he could of caught it between. If all the temps,lights and diet are good,it does look like a small break,wait for more answers from the experts,but I think a vet trip may be needed if only for peace of mind.

A lot of BTS seem to have kinks in the tail -- better safe than sorry though...

well i brought him to the vets office, should be okay though, probably just got caught in something, the scales seamed undamaged, but i also asked him if he could figure out if its a girl or a boy, looked like a girl

How did you have the vet check for gender? :shock:
Also, how old is your Skink? Check the caresheet for checking gender of skinks, because age aside, "popping" and "probing" really aren't good to do with Blueys, and its not all that reliable anyways.
The best way to tell is the ol' "Poop n' Plugs" method, or seeing 'Peens' (hemipenes) coming out when Skink is doing the above mentioned "Poop n' plugs".
Otherwise, hope your guy's tail heals nice and quickly!
